Give the participant motivation
Being a supervisor in an initiative is an important and rewarding job. Part of the job is to develop motivation and mastery in an informal and safe relationship with the participant. Often, many of the tasks eat up the time you have to create safe and positive interaction with the user. The working day is usually made up of reporting to various case workers in NAV, you must enter into agreements with employers and follow up the participant with conversations and regular meetings. These tasks aim to give the participant work and a better life, but do not create an arena for engagement, ownership and continuous follow-up.
Dokker gives you more time for better follow-up: in Dokker you can follow up participants through daily conversation, if you wish. This is how the participant engages and many tasks can be delegated to the participant. When the participant experiences taking over and completing tasks, we create self-esteem, mastery and confidence. At the same time, as a supervisor, you receive confirmation of your involvement.
To top it all off, you have access to the participant’s ‘voice’ and documentation when reporting to NAV - or what about inviting case manager from NAV directly into Dokker? This is possible and quite okay with regard to GDPR - as long as it is the participant who gives access.
Objectives and task templates
We have collaborated with initiative companies and professionals in the industry to develop a set of objectives (equivalent to a curriculum) for participants in various initiatives. The objectives are based on public authorities’ requirements specifications and communicates directly to the participant. The objectives are flexible in use and covers all areas in most areas of various initiatives. They can be used together with the ordinary curriculas in Dokker. In this way, one can easily combine goal achievement in the initiative itself and at the same time focus on formal competence.
To get started more easily with follow-up in Dokker, we have also developed task templates that the supervisor can use and assign to the participant. The templates can be rewritten and adapted to local and individual needs. We have developed task templates that cover the basic objectives. In addition, we hope that the assignment templates can provide inspiration for the supervisor to create their own assignments that are tailored to the individual participant. This way Dokker takes the opportunity for personal follow-up to a whole new level.
